Fillings
Fillings are used to fill small to moderate size cavities after all the bacteria and decay is removed. At Enamel Dental Studio, we use BPA-Free glass ionomer tooth-colored material for cavities on the back teeth and BPA-Free resin composite tooth-colored material for the front teeth. The glass ionomer material releases fluoride to strengthen and remineralize teeth while the resin material provides optimal esthetics.
Full/Partial Dentures
Dentures are removable whether it is a full or partial one. This type of prosthesis is the most economical but the most cumbersome due to it being removable. Once these dentures are delivered, it is essential for the patient to come in for their regular six-month checkups in order to keep the remaining teeth healthy and evaluate the fit of the prosthesis. If the denture does not fit properly, more material may need to be added or a new denture may be needed.
Crowns
When extensive amount of tooth destruction is present due to a previous large filling, large amounts of decay, or fracture, a crown may be needed in order to restore the proper structural integrity of the tooth. Crowns are also needed to protect teeth that have root canals, which have become brittle and fragile after the procedure.
How long do crowns last?
Crowns on average last 10 – 15 years before having to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. Crowns can last longer with excellent oral hygiene and good habits. People with certain diets, grinding habits, or subpar oral hygiene may need their crowns replaced sooner. If you grind your teeth, we recommend a custom night guard while sleeping to protect your restorations and teeth.
Bridges
Bridges can be a great esthetic option for replacing one or multiple teeth. Bridges are permanently cemented on to the adjacent teeth of the missing ones. It does require shaving the adjacent teeth to specific dimensions in order to properly seat the bridge. The bridge preparation is very similar to the crown preparation.
